Flexovit is part of Saint-Gobain, a multinational with more than 170,000 employees around the world and plants and offices in 46 countries. Saint-Gobain is, amongst others, leader in abrasives.
Flexovit started out as a brand in Enschede, The Netherlands. In 1958 the founded company Slijptechniek used Flexovit as a strong international brandname. During the next year, the founder Wim Ebbink traded Flexovit grinding discs. He invented the name and had the discs made in Germany. In 1959 he started his own production in Enschede of Flexovit and Speedoflex discs. From here on Flexovit grew as a brand. In and around Holland the discs were sold. Through the years Flexovit has developed towards a worldwide brand, with the image of excellence.
