Richard Walbyoff wins DIY dad of the Year

While attending the Ideal Home Show with his family, Richard Walbyoff spontaneously decided to join the DIY Dad of the Year competition, and took home first place.  His wife encouraged him to attend the Home Show because one of the guest speakers was George Clark, and they were both big fans of his.  They enjoyed the show, but when Richard saw there would be a competition for DIY dads, he thought he might have fun joining it.

A study by Allianz Your Cover Insurance found that DIY disasters are actually costing Brits 4.4 billion pounds per year!

Knowing how to handle power tools and take care of simply fixes at home are useful skills.  Most would agree that if you know how to get the job done yourself, you can save a lot of money by not hiring someone else.
